Small steps

Wow, was just thinking I did not write a post for this site yet and I have been working a few hours on this site already. Also thought about something like ‘small steps’. Sometimes I forget how much effort is involved in even the simplest things we see others do, or the simplest results others achieved.

Like now, you may see some little things change in this site, e.g. I wanted to add some kind of color to the site, some logo of some kind. So I did search on ‘inspiration and motivation and success’ and saw a nice image, the one you now (April 14, 2014) see on the right top, or below:

Road to Success

So even for this little post I had to do some things to get the right image in the page as I want the ‘original’ image in this page, even if the image in the header changes. So I had to copy the image, give it another name and upload it to the server.

So yes, this post is about me, as of course I want some appreciation for what I do with this site and of course you all underestimate how much time and effort are involved in creating a site like this.

And yes, while writing this i also realize how many small steps others do, you do, for things that appear so easy to me. And that I could express my appreciation for things others do so much more.

So let’s appreciate ourselves and each other more, tell ourselves and each other more that all those little steps are important, that each little step often takes more effort than we realize, but also that all those small steps lead to big things if we just keep walking.

Sample for success

Last night I was thinking further about my own goals and dreams and this blog. It came to me that I guess I am successful in many ways, but that I don’t consider myself successful at the moment, or at least don’t feel it. So I’m not much of a sample, so how would you believe me.

And yes, a good basketball coach doesn’t need to be a good basketball player, so I could be a coach to inspire people to success, even if I don’t consider myself successful, but still.

Also I realized that part of the reason for this blog is to help me achieve the success I’m still looking for. So why not combine the two goals. So slowly I came up with the idea to relate the success of this blog more closely to the success I’m looking for at the moment, where the success I’m looking for is a monetary goal (and no, my main goal is not about money, but I do need money to achieve it).

Thinking further, as I am getting my current inspiration from Think and Grow Rich, I may want to create a test case and take you with me on the road to success. One of the phrases in the book that inspired me was something like ‘when money (or success) starts to come in, it comes in so quickly that one may be amazed where it has been hiding so long’.

I’m still very hesitant to share what is in my head, as it doesn’t really feel good yet, it feels kind of abusive to you, my readers, even though the idea has been there for a long time already and is also already implicitly in this site and my related site op weg naar success (on the road to success in Dutch).

But again, one of the principles of success is not to be affected or not to be affected too much of what others think, so I’ll just start this. For now, just check the page sample goal.

Success with my blog

Well, this blog in the end is not supposed to be about me, but about to inspire you to success, but of course for now I would need some followers as there are none or not many visiting this site yet. And of course the site is not visited or not a lot as it is new and does not have a lot of content yet. And I’m not even sure if it’s interesting content already.

So after a discussion with a friend of mine yesterday evening he suggested that one of the ways to e.g. get comments on my blog so I would know if it has useful posts or other content is to involve other bloggers, e.g. by commenting on their posts. Good idea I thought, so I started searching for something like ‘inspiration for success blog’ and ended up here.

And got some more advice straight away. So just ask and you will be given! I asked for advice and got more advice than I could imagine in a very, very short time!

Light at the end of the tunnel

Today I saw something weird on the floor in the bathroom. A small spot of light on the floor. It made me think of ‘light at the end of the tunnel’, what I am hoping so desperately for. So yes, it felt as if there is finally light at the end of the tunnel.

The weird thing was that the spot was created by light coming through a tiny hole in the roof and a ceiling part missing, both these things are kind of negative to me.

So indeed, negative things can become positive things in a way you would not expect. Let’s keep that in mind when we don’t see light at the end of the tunnel.

Cannot be coincidence

I just kind of accidental walked to our book closed, took out the book The Buddha and his Dhamaa, opened it somewhere, and found this:

34. “When I see how the nature of pleasure and pain are mixed, i consider royalty and slavery as the same; a king does not always smile, nor is a slave always in pain.

35. “Since to be a king involves a wider range of responsibility, therefore, the sorrows of a king are great; for a king is like a peg, – he endures trouble for the sake of the world.

36. “A king is unfortunate, if he places his trust in his royalty which is apt to desert and loves crooked turns; and, on the other hand, if he does not trust in it, then what can be the happiness of a timid king?

37. “And since after even conquering the whole earth, one city only can serve as a dwelling place and even there only one house can be inhabited, is not royalty mere labour for others?

38. “And even in royalty nothing more than one pair of garments is all he needs, and just enough food to keep off hunger; so only one bed, and only one seat is all that a king needs; other distinctions ar only for pride.

Just what I needed today, so Infinite Intelligence is there and helping me, and you.
